Mandi Hickman working on her Shire, "We've Got Legs!" During this specialized three-day course we explored the structure of the equine leg through hands-on projects and created take-home reference models that continue to assist students long after the workshop is over. ![]() One of Simrat Khalsa's "Legs" 2002 projects.

"From Wire to Whinny" Sorry, no workshops In this three-day workshop students learn the basics of equine anatomy, how to best utilize references, form an armature, and then apply clay to create a sculpture. "Wire to Whinny" is open to all levels of experience. The workshop is as much about sharing ideas, learning to analyze various references and how to then translate that information into three dimensions as it is about creating an object. These techniques can be used in creating a sculpture of *any* animal. Students are expected to bring their own tools and required texts. Workshop tuition includes armature supplies, clay, and an extensive workbook. It's a tremendous value! ![]() ![]() Dora Reeves, Nampa ID, starting with armature wire, then developing her sculpture of a cantering mule; "from Wire to Bray" in this case! |
